Music Monday: Stardust (Hoagy Carmichael)

Hello everyone! Happy Monday – and happy bank holiday if you’re lucky enough to have one!

Today, I’m showcasing something a little different to what I usually do. This type of song is what I grew up playing; I’m much more jazz-trained than classically. So I hope you enjoy this!

Stardust was written in 1927 by Hoagy Carmichael and the lyrics were added in 1929 by Mitchell Parish. The song is regarded as an American standard and is one of the most recorded songs of the 20th century. One of the most well-known versions was recorded by Nat King Cole.
